Ask yourself, what is one of the cutest things to photograph? Now whatever you said I hope it was cute but mine would have to be.....babies! They coo, smile, sleep, eat....cry but seriously they are adorable. Check out little baby Asa weighing just over 6lbs. Kinda flt like I was going to break him when I touched him and yet Asa's mom just flipped him and held him like I only wished I could (obviously have a little bit of learning to do before I have a kiddo of my own). Never the less this shoot was a blast! Hope you enjoy!

Tulsa. State. Fair.
One of my favorite things about fall are State Fairs. It's one of the few times of the year you can eat anything in sight even if it makes you sick later that night. It's fabulous people watching and all the lights make beautiful pictures.
Waiting to get just the right shot, the owner of the ride explained that this ride was hand painted in Italy for 3.5 million dollars! WHOA!

Summer Time Blues

This is the first weekend we have had in a long time where we have not had ANYTHING planned! We stayed up until 2:30 in the morning Friday night and ended up sleeping in until almost 11:00 (besides the few times little paws hit my face to try and get me to play). Besides the fact that I felt as if I slept away half my day, it was glorious to sleep in for a change. I woke up to fresh brewed coffee and breakfast already made for me. We sat at our newly purchased cafe table and chairs on our front porch and enjoyed our morning. As we sat there drinking coffee I noticed a locus shell attached to our rail on the porch. I started thinking about the little bug and how much they always remind me of summer. Sitting outside listening to the buzz and hum of little bugs is slowly going to come to an end. Oh how I wish summer would last forever.

How Twisted Tree came to be...

There once was a girl who grew up knowing she was creative. Crafting, drawing, daydreaming and dancing all the years of her early life. Dreams of what she should become slowly turned from doctor, teacher or policewoman into storm chaser, model or artist. Being somewhat analytical, this girl layed out the pros and cons of each individual career. Storm chaser-one who must be a little insane and lives for a rush chasing large dangerous storms with potential of producing violent roaring tornadoes. Hmmmm, not for her since she only owns one car and her daddy is not made of money. Model-one who does not eat anything but a piece of lettuce and a glass of water per meal and struts what her momma gave her (or what she could afford from the lovely 90210 doctors). Again, not for this girl since eating food IS one of her favorite things to do. Artist- one who can express themselves in any which way they feel. Ding ding ding! After trying out cosmetology, this young girl remembered how much she enjoyed creating looks and photographing her younger sister when they were much smaller. Photography was a thought of capturing a memory on paper to always look back on in the future.

After obtaining a starter camera as a Christmas present, she was on her way to knowledge, trial and error on how to be a photographer. The next few years she played with her camera using it mostly as a point and shoot type camera (not really knowing how to use the poor thing) until she met a certain important person. This certain person was to become one of the most important people in her life soon but even better...he was also a photographer. The first dates with this young girl and this young man mainly consisted of heavy flirtatious comments and trips to random cities to photograph. They both quickly realized how much they had in common and began to spend more and more time together. This, as you must come to realize, was a win win for this young girl- a free way to learn and the man who would soon become the man of her dreams. After more and more practice, she became better and better entering photo contest and examining other photographers work. The two young photographers were also asked to show a few photos in the Tulsa Historical Society Photo Exhibit.

The two photographers first lived in a cute two bedroom house that soon grew too small for the two of them to grow as a family but the one thing that stuck with the young couple was the large beautiful twisted tree in the front yard. After walking their dog almost every morning right by the tree, they knew after moving they would miss their unique twisted tree. One day after conversing about dreams the two of them had for their future together (brewery, the town they wanted to end up in, photography studios and so on) the name Twisted Tree Photography popped into her head. From then on, she always knew what she would call her photography.
